The Stillwater Chamber of Commerce is dedicated to establishing strong leaders who will help ensure the overall prosperity of Stillwater. The Leadership Stillwater program identifies these emerging leaders and prepares them for community involvement and civic leadership. Students are required to participate on volunteer boards and committees that reach diverse aspects of the Stillwater community.
One year after purchasing Three Points Karate, Alex doubled the size of his martial arts school from 80 to 160 students and was featured in Martial Arts Success Magazine.
Alex has conducted Self-Defense and Bullyproofing workshops for colleges, leadership programs, public and private schools, and small businesses all over Oklahoma.
After passing his Gracie Combatives Jiu-jitsu testing with a 99/100, Alex continued training in the Gracie University system. After much study, he became an official Gracie Jiu-Jitsu Certified Instructor.
Stillwater Martial Arts was chosen by the Chamber of Commerce as Stillwater's Small Business of the Year for 2018.
As part of his 4th Degree Black Belt Test, Alex spent two consecutive days blind and two consecutive days mute. The purpose of this is empathy training. Literally walking more than a mile in someone else's shoes. All black belts under Alex are required to complete at least one day mute, blind, or deaf.
During the COVID-19 Pandemic, Alex began writing for small business relief grants. This resulted in a grant from the State of Oklahoma for the Oklahoma Business Relief Program which is selected by the Governor, as well as a micro-enterprise grant from the Enid Regional Development Alliance.
The fastest time to tie a martial arts belt is 4.68 seconds, Achieved by Alexander Evers in Edmond, Oklahoma on December 28th, 2023.
Alex was honored with the Top 10 Emerging Leaders Under 40 award in Stillwater in 2017. He was honored a second time with the Top 10 Under 40 award in Enid in 2020.
In 2001, the Outstanding Young Alumni award was established to recognize recent graduates from the Spears School of Business who have provided significant service and achievement early in their professional careers.
Alex opened Family Martial Arts in Enid in 2018 and opened a second location in Edmond in 2022!
In 2021, Alex was certified as a Gracie Jiujitsu Women Empowered Instructor. The WE system will teach you how to neutralize the 20 most common attacks ranging from having your hair grabbed to being pinned to the ground by a weapon-bearing assailant.

Kids Kick Obesity (KKO) is a movement to encourage our youth to build better eating and exercise habits. We work in partnership with the Stillwater Public Schools and the Payne County Live Well Coalition to motivate these changes in our community.
